In 2008 two friends opened one hell of a beer store in Charleston, South Carolina. The Charleston Beer Exchange became known as a pioneer during a time when growlers were still a new concept and the state laws that governed how strong beer could be were just beginning to change.

In the northern reaches of the state we opened a second beer store, The Greenville Beer Exchange, and created the region’s most renowned beer festival, Brewvival. Designed to push limits, The Greenville Beer Exchange was rivaled only by its Charleston sister store in its sheer beer geekery.
Time passed and the limits needed to be expanded once more so we opened The Restaurant at Edmund’s Oast to explore a passion for fine food and drink. Closing The Charleston Beer Exchange and selling the Greenville store (now known by its current owners as “GBX” and still as badass as ever) allowed the team to focus on the new restaurant & brewpub project.

We are a craft-distribution and importing company built on the passion for the product we sell. Inspired by the liquid in the bottle, we have scoured the US and beyond to find, what we believe, to be the best beer, cider and mead available in the world. We go to great lengths to then get these liquids to the customer in the best possible condition. Our suppliers work hard to make a world class product and we’re dedicated to treating them with the respect they deserve.
We do not carry multinational macro-lagers or “utility” beers
We do not carry beer brewed with adjuncts used to reduce flavor and body.
We are not in the business of “moving boxes”
