The story of Radiant Pig begins in a small Brooklyn apartment when former art school student and homebrewing fanatic Rob Pihl, decided to merge his two greatest passions: art and craft beer. In 2013 Radiant Pig was launched, with the name being a mashup of these two passions, in addition to being the founders initials.
‘Radiant’ is inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat, who was dubbed the ‘Radiant Child’ by art critic Rene Ricard. Pig is an acronym that stands for ‘people in gastropubs’, a nod to our customers and anyone else who shares a love for craft beer.
Radiant Pig creates innovative, high-quality brews with colorful names and labels reminiscent of the street art found throughout NYC.
Our most popular beer “Save the Robots” is an east coast IPA whose name comes from the underground after-hours club in New York, frequented by east village artists and musicians in the 80’s. Along with our other year-round brews “TV Party”, and “Own the Night”, Radiant Pig has grown into a regional favorite amongst beer nerds and novices. As demand and distribution has grown throughout the Northeast, we’re working on creating a brewery space and taproom where people can enjoy our beers.
We are a craft-distribution and importing company built on the passion for the product we sell. Inspired by the liquid in the bottle, we have scoured the US and beyond to find, what we believe, to be the best beer, cider and mead available in the world. We go to great lengths to then get these liquids to the customer in the best possible condition. Our suppliers work hard to make a world class product and we’re dedicated to treating them with the respect they deserve.
We do not carry multinational macro-lagers or “utility” beers
We do not carry beer brewed with adjuncts used to reduce flavor and body.
We are not in the business of “moving boxes”
